| TECH-SPRAY MOLY-MAG is recommended for use only on crops and in areas where Molybdenum is needed. Foliar application is recognized as an ideal method for supplying Mo which is required for the proper utilization of Nitrogen in plants. Mo is an essential part of the nitrate reductase enzyme which is involved in reducing nitrate-N to amino-N for use in protein formation. Suggested rates are 1 to 4 quarts per acre; one quart supplies ½-ounce of Molybdenum. This formula also provides Magnesium to assist in the energy transfer processes in the nitrogen reduction pathway. Molybdenum is required in plants at very low levels, commonly less than 10ppm; excessive rates should be avoided. Phytotoxicity to plants is rare but when livestock eat forage that contains 10-20 ppm Mo, they develop a condition called Molybdenosis which is often fatal. Molybdenosis may be overcome by supplying Copper to the diet of affected livestock. | ||
